Healthy blood vessels, a healthier life

Our philosophy:
See your vessels before they give you trouble

"Atherosclerosis is a silent process. It builds up over many years without being noticed, and the first sign is all too often a stroke, a heart attack or a leg that will not carry you. With ultrasound we can see the changes in the vessel wall long before that, and acting early has a lot to gain.

‍Your vessels reveal how your heart is doing
The carotid arteries, the abdominal aorta and the arteries of the legs belong to the same vascular system that supplies the heart. If we find plaque or narrowing there, we know the risk of cardiovascular disease is raised. That is why we always look at the vessels and the heart as a whole.

‍A clear answer, and a plan
The examinations are painless and often take less than half an hour. You get the results directly from the specialist along with a concrete plan, whether it is about lifestyle, blood pressure, cholesterol or further investigation.”

When blood cannot get through, about atherosclerosis

Almost one in five Swedes over 60 shows signs of atherosclerosis in the leg arteries, and most of them do not know it. The same changes in the carotid arteries are a common cause of stroke. Atherosclerosis cannot be seen from the outside, but it shows up clearly on ultrasound.

If any of these points sound familiar, a vascular examination is a simple way to get a clear answer. It is done with ultrasound and is painless.

NOTE! In case of sudden paralysis, a drooping face, difficulty speaking, or a cold, pale and painful leg: call 112 immediately.
  • Do you get pain in your calf or thigh when walking that eases when you stop?
  • Do you have sores on your feet or legs that heal poorly?
  • Have you had temporary vision loss, numbness or weakness in an arm or a leg?
  • Is one leg swollen, warm or tender for no obvious reason?
  • Do you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes?
  • Do you smoke, or have you smoked for many years?
  • Has anyone in your family had an aortic aneurysm, a stroke or an early heart attack?
  • Do you want to know how your blood vessels are doing, even if you feel healthy?

How are your blood vessels?

Atherosclerosis rarely causes symptoms until it is advanced. But there are early signals and risk factors that are easy to miss in everyday life: a calf that aches on the hill, blood pressure that has crept up, a parent who has had a stroke. Five questions about symptoms and risk factors give you an indication of whether your blood vessels should be examined.

The test does not replace a medical assessment.
