Is a cardiac ultrasound examination under load, either cycle work or pharmacological load with contrast and carotid screening. The examination is primarily done to investigate whether there is angina, i.e. lack of oxygen due to coronary artery stenosis, but can also be used to sharpen the diagnosis in heart valve diseases, heart failure and some other more rare conditions.

When angina is the cause of the examination, it is an advantage if you can refrain from taking beta-blockers such as Metoprolol, Bisoprolol, Carvedilol or long-acting Nitroglycerin before the examination.

Registration of ECG occurs at rest and during work on a test cycle. Heart attack and stroke are the two most common causes of death in Sweden. Both heart attack and stroke are caused by clot formation in the vessels.

Clot formation in vessels creates a critical oxygen deficiency that leads to an injury to the heart (heart attack) or brain (stroke).
